Amazing Benefits of Oil Pulling

Oil pulling is a very inexpensive therapy that could potentially have great benefit on oral health, so I see no downside to trying it. I’ve done this for a few years, my  personal experience is with increased oral health, less sensitive and whiter teeth. Oil pulling is best done in the morning, before eating or drinking anything.

It's so simple. It's kind of like using an oil as mouthwash.  Basically, a person swishes a couple teaspoons of a coconut oil in the mouth for 20 minutes and then spits it out and swishes a few times with warm water to get any remaining oil out of my mouth. After rinsing, brush well to make sure any remaining bacteria is killed. You remove a large amount of the bacteria and plaque in your mouth each time you do this.
Oil pulling claim it is capable of improving oral and systemic health, including a benefit in conditions such as headaches, migraines, diabetes mellitus, asthma, and acne, as well as whitening teeth. Its promoters claim it works by "pulling out" toxins, which are known as ama in Ayurvedic medicine, and thereby reducing inflammation.

The practice of oil pulling started in India thousands of years ago and they used other oils such as sesame oil or sunflower oil. Oil pulling should work with pretty much any oil you choose, but I prefer coconut oil because it has many health benefits.

If you use coconut oil like me, then you may have to chew on the oil for a minute or so to let it melt, because it is solid at room temperature. There is no need to use a lot of force here, if oil pulling causes pain in your facial muscles then just relax a bit. Try using less oil next time and don’t swish it around too forcefully.

One thing for sure I am really surprised at how effective this is and I plan to continue doing this for a long time.
