Secret For Fat Loss

If you are trying to loss weight, you must of heard this before "Eat less, exercise more". That’s the simple solution to anyone’s weight-loss questions. But if it were really that easy, more people would be in great shape.
The real secret to targeting fat loss in a specific area is through proper diet. I’m really sorry to let you down. You were probably expecting some mind blowing revelation on how to get six pack abs through some amazing 10 minute abs workout. If you were, then I guess this really is a revelation for you.

You cannot target fat loss through exercise. Read it again and again

You cannot target fat loss through exercise. Doing situps is not going to give you six pack abs. You aren’t going to get “toned” arms or legs simply by doing leg or arm workouts.

The secret to “targeting” fat loss in the stomach area – DIET
The secret to “targeting” fat loss in the inner thigh area – DIET

The secret to getting a firm butt – DIET
The secret to getting toned arms – DIET
The secret to great looking legs – DIET

Do you see a pattern here? Sorry to say that, but no amount of exercise is going to make that body part look good if there is a layer of fat covering it up! Healthy eating combined with a calorie deficit is the only way to target fat loss. Fat loss is systemic – not localized.

To build muscle & lose fat, you need a variety of proteins, veggies, fruits, carbs, and healthy fats. Eating protein helps building & maintaining muscles.
To better explain this, take your typical arm workout. Maybe you are doing some curls in the hope to have “toned” arms. As you are lifting the weight, your bicep sends out a signal that it needs energy – fat and glycogen. This energy is used both for lifting the weight, and used to repair muscle tissue.

Whether you’re a man or a woman, the fastest way to burn fat faster is by lifting heavy weights. Not only do heavier weights activate more muscle fibers, they also increase your resting metabolism. In other words, when you lift heavy weights, you continue to burn calories at a higher rate, even when you’re doing nothing.

When your muscles send out this “I need fat” signal, your body releases all sorts of fat-burning hormones and chemicals into the blood stream. Within seconds and a couple of heart beats, these fat burning chemicals are dispersed throughout the entire body.

They start pulling fat from all over the place – from the fat in your midsection, to the fat on your fingers. It would be great if your muscles would just use the fat from the surrounding muscle, but that’s just not how it works.

I really despise the word “tone”. It’s another one of those misunderstood words used by the fitness industry. It was created to target women who didn’t want to get big and bulky through strength training.

Being toned means nothing more than having muscle and having low body fat. There is no exercise that accomplishes this by itself. Your goal should be to build muscle in the most efficient way possible, and then use proper nutrition to remove the fat covering it.
Stop wasting your time with crunches, leg lifts, or any other isolation exercise that doesn’t challenge you. Get in the gym and start lifting some weights, or do your strength training at home – just do it. Build that fat-burning muscle, and then focus on your diet.

If you don’t want to get bulky, then you have to watch what you eat. If you put on muscle but do nothing to decrease your body fat (diet), you are going to look bigger. However, if you get in the gym and do squats and other highly effective compound movements, and couple that with a great diet and a calorie deficit, you are going to start seeing the true potential of your body.

Health Benefits Of Flaxseed

Flaxseeds (which are also referred to as linseeds) are a seed from flax. Flax is one of the world’s oldest fiber crops, and it is known to have been grown in ancient China and Egypt. Flaxseeds are considered to be a superfood because they are a great source of dietary fiber, micronutrients, manganese, alpha-linolenic acid, and vitamin B1. Flaxseed is also a source of antioxidants and healthy fats.

Although flaxseed contains all sorts of healthy components, it owes its primary healthy reputation to three of them:
  • Omega-3 essential fatty acids, "good" fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Each tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3s.
  • Lignans, which have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities. Flaxseed contains 75 to 800 times more lignans than other plant foods.
  • Fiber. Flaxseed contains both the soluble and insoluble types.
Health Benefits Of Flaxseed
As reported in Medical News Today, there are many health benefits associated with flaxseed use. One of them is protection against cancer. Consuming flaxseed is believed to guard against breast, colon, and prostate cancer. Flaxseed is linked to cancer cell growth prevention because the omega-3 fatty acids in the seed can prevent the malignant cells from latching onto other cells in the body. Additionally, the lignans found in flaxseed are believed to contain antiangiogenic properties that prevent tumors from creating new blood vessels.

Eating flaxseed daily may also help your cholesterol levels. The level of LDL or "bad" cholesterol in the bloodstream has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.

Preliminary research also suggests that daily intake of the lignans in flaxseed may modestly improve blood sugar (as measured by hemoglobin A1c blood tests in adults with type 2 diabetes).

One study of menopausal women, published in 2007, reported that 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed mixed into cereal, juice, or yogurt twice a day cut their hot flashes in half. The intensity of their hot flashes also dropped by 57%. The women noticed a difference after taking the daily flaxseed for just one week and achieved the maximum benefit within two weeks.

Two components in flaxseed, ALA and lignans, may reduce the inflammation that accompanies certain illnesses (such as Parkinson's disease and asthma) by helping block the release of certain pro-inflammatory agents, Fitzpatrick says.
ALA has been shown to decrease inflammatory reactions in humans. And studies in animals have found that lignans can decrease levels of several pro-inflammatory agents.
Reducing inflammation associated with plaque buildup in the arteries may be another way flaxseed helps prevent heart attack and strokes.

Many experts believe it's better to consume flaxseed than flax oil (which contains just part of the seed) so you get all the components.

As noted in WebMD, flaxseed is linked to the prevention of cardiovascular disease. In fact, research indicates that the omega-3s in flaxseed help normalize the heartbeat while also promoting anti-inflammatory action within the body. The amino acids found in flaxseeds are also thought to play a role in promoting cardiovascular health.

Clean Your Colon With 2 Simple Ingredients

Doctors who do autopsies find a surprising number of things in the colon. Years worth of hardened, rotted food and feces, colons twice the size they should be and caked full so only a small passage appears, and even worms up to 6 inches long. The walls of the colon fill with hardened waste and block the passage of the nutrition that the colon absorbs. Honey and apple cider vinegar are excellent natural remedy for many. This powerful combination will help you to clean your colon as well.

Honey and apple cider vinegar alone are great for your health, but together are the one-two-knockout punch for high blood pressure. Both ingredients are high in potassium, which regulates the amount of sodium in your blood and normalizes blood pressure. They also contain magnesium, which reduces pressure on the walls of your blood vessels. Aside from cleansing your colon and lowering blood pressure, this also serves as an anti-aging elixir.

I have been having a 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 tablespoons of honey in a tall glass of hot water twice a day for about a year. My uncontrollable blood pressure is back to normal and my meds have been reduced. Also noticed that my sinus congestion has cleared up a lot.

8 ounces of warm purified water – don’t use bottled water!
2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons of raw organic honey

Mix the ingredients together. Wait until your honey completely dissolves then slowly drink. You might not like the taste at first but you get used to it. Consume 1 to 2 glasses daily.

5 Homemade Juice Which Help You in Achieving Your Weight Loss Goals

Homemade juices are one of the best and easiest ways to avoid consuming extra calories. They are healthy and provide the body its necessary dose of nutrients for they are naturally sweet and devoid of artificial sweeteners.

Lot of people starting on a juice fast and losing weight, while others juice to add healthy nutrients to their diet, which aids in weight loss. Here is list of my healthiest juices that can help you in losing weight.

Watermelon Juice:

Watermelon juice is ideal for weight loss for it is packed with electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals. It makes sure you lose weight without making you feel tired and weak. . A watermelon juice definitely is the perfect piece to beat the summer heat, considering that it contains 97% water and sugar. It should be noted as well that a watermelon helps you get rid of those extra pounds off, contrary to fears that eating the fruit or drinking a watermelon juice could result to gaining weight due to its sugar content. Actually, it’s not the same sugar that could aggravate diabetes; a watermelon contains natural sugar good for the body.

Aloe Vera Juice:

Even though this is not the best tasting juice, it helps in boosting your metabolism instantly. Regular consumption of it not only helps in weight loss, it also makes your hair and skin look healthy. Aloe vera juice is the ultimate healthy habit, as it seemingly aids in weight loss, digestion, immune function, and even ‘easing general discomfort’.

Lemon Juice:

There’s no denying that lemon juice is one of the first things that strikes us when it comes to weight loss. Having lemon juice on an empty stomach in the morning helps you in expediting the process of weighting for it cleanses and detoxifies the body and keeps you refreshed throughout the day. Lemon juice sourness is due mainly to the presence of organic acids such as citric and ascorbic acids. These acids along with the various vitamins and minerals in lemon juice provide numerous benefits for your body.

Carrot Juice:

It is loaded with calcium, potassium, magnesium, carotenes, and vitamins A, B1, B3, B6, C and K. Along with this, it is also packed with antioxidants that help in boosting your metabolism and enhancing your immune system. Drinking carrot juice can help you get rid of dermatitis and eczema.
Vitamin C acts as a protector of the nervous and immune systems.

Beetroot Juice:

It is definitely one of the healthiest juices for it is rich in vitamin A, B6, B12, C, D, E, and K along with calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, and fiber. The vitamins and fibers aid in the process of detoxifying the body by flushing out toxins from it. This in turn helps in weight loss. Beetroot juice is one of the richest dietary sources of antioxidants and naturally occurring nitrates. Nitrates are compounds which improve blood flow throughout the body – including the brain, heart, and muscles.

Homemade OxyClean Stain Remover Mixture

Commercial stain-removing products are often hazardous to humans, wildlife and the environment. Product labeling can be deceptive and often include a combination of chemicals and solvents that are nerve-damaging, severe skin and eye irritants and may have adverse reproductive effects.

Consider switching to stain removers made from plant oils or the home remedy solutions posted below.

This works on every stain I've tried on !!!

The ultimate stain remover that actually works on a seriously set in stain! Never buy oxyclean again!

1 tsp. Dawn dish washing detergent...

Morning Weight Loss Drink

Combing honey with warm water can be a great way to lose weight because it can help with proper breakdown of foods, especially when drinking in the morning. This mixture also serves as a cleanser, which washes away unwanted toxins from our body.

Weight loss is not something that can happen instantaneously and can take time. However, we cannot expect to lose weight without working towards it. Be it going for walks, working out in the morning, or following a healthy diet – you need to do something or the other to see your weight go down. Now nothing can miraculously make you lose your weight, but there are a few things that you can do to expedite this process.

One of them is definitely the usage of honey. Honey is of the most amazing ingredients that lies in every kitchen. It is packed with loads of health benefits and works like wonders when added to your food and drink. Just by having a spoonful of it every day can help you in achieving that body which you have been craving for.

The best way of consuming honey is by mixing it warm water. This combination can amazingly make you shed those extra pounds and make you fit into your old pair of skinny jeans. Not only this, it also helps in maintaining the calorie content of your body by flushing out harmful toxins from your body.

Honey with hot water and lemon can help get rid of toxins in your body. The citric acid in the lemon helps enhance enzyme function, which stimulates the liver and helps with detoxification. Besides, lemon and honey in hot water helps increase the frequency of urination and keep the urinary tract healthy.

Honey contains vitamins and minerals that help combat bacteria. Being a strong antioxidant, honey is also great for fighting free radicals in the body. A regular dose of honey will definitely give your immunity a boost.

The antimicrobial and antioxidant properties of honey that can help relieve the cough. A concoction of lemon and honey with hot water can help loosen mucus causing the irritation and calm the throat.

Here’s how you can easily make a mixture of honey and warm water that you can drink every morning after waking up.
  • Take water in a pan and boil it for a few minutes
  • Make sure the water doesn’t become too hot making it difficult to handle
  • Strain the water into the glass so that all its impurities are removed
  • Add about 1 to 2 teaspoons of honey to the warm water
  • Stir the honey well so that it forms a homogeneous solution
  • Drink it on an empty stomach
Remember, the more water you add to this mixture, the faster you will lose weight. It will simultaneously ensure proper functioning of your kidneys by helping your body remove excess water.

  • You can opt for having a glass of honey with warm water right before and during your meals for it will make you feel satiated for a longer period of time. This also means it will keep you from binging or overeating which in the long run will aid in the process of weight loss. Needless to say, having a glass of honey and warm water early in the morning will help you losing weight a lot faster.
  • Rather than having a plain glass of honey with warm water, you can also add a teaspoon of lemon juice to the concoction to increase its benefits. The combination of sweet honey and citrusy lemon juice makes for a refreshing morning drink that is packed with loads of health benefits. Lemon is rich in vitamin C and its antioxidant properties will help you in your weight loss goal and keep you energised for the day.
  • You can also consume a cup of hot tea with a teaspoon of honey before having your breakfast in the morning. This mixture will balance out your appetite by ensuring you do not suffer from sugar cravings throughout the day.
  • Adding a bit of cinnamon to the mixture can also aid in weight loss along with rendering a fresh aroma to the concoction.

  • Benefits of Drinking Cucumber Water

Cucumber water not only helps genuinely hydrate the body, it can help you feel better overall, and even look better. Here are all of the benefits you’ll reap, and some recipes to help you along.

Cucumber water not only helps genuinely hydrate the body, it can help you feel better overall, and even look better.

Water is vital to the body, but by itself it’s not a great source of vitamins. When you add in cucumbers you’ll be adding in vitamins and minerals that will help supplement the rest of your diet.

Cucumber water Keeps your blood pressure in check and it will help keep you away from debilitating diseases like stroke, heart attack, kidney disease, or vision loss. By drinking cucumber water you’re staying hydrated, and helping your blood pressure thanks to the 4% DV of potassium cucumbers contain.

Drinking a glass of cucumber water when you’re hungry can help you make it until your next meal if it’s not quite mealtime. Eating when you’re not actually hungry can lead to weight gain, sluggishness, and can throw you off your natural eating cycle. When you feel hunger coming on before it’s time to eat again, see if you’re just thirsty. Thirst and hunger use the same signal, and drinking cucumber water can help determine if it’s really hunger that you’re dealing with. Saving yourself from just a few unwarranted meals a week can be a big boost to your health.

Staying hydrated will help your skin stay supple and smooth, and adding in cucumbers to your water intake means you’re getting extra nutrients that helps even more. Cucumbers contain silica, which provides extra benefits to the skin.

Silica in cucumbers that helps the skin, also helps your muscle tissues healthy. It’s a great choice if you’ve added a strength training regimen to your healthy lifestyle, or if you want to make sure that your muscles have all of the nutrients needed to function at their best. A daily glass of cucumber water makes a great contribution to the overall health of your muscles, and your body in general.

Cucumbers have shown promise for their anti-cancer properties, and when you use them as part of an overall healthy lifestyle, you’ll be helping to avoid this disease.

Here is one of my favorite recipe for cucumber water: Refreshing Fruit Water

Feeling parched is not in the cards when you make up a batch of this fruit water. But don’t let the title fool you, it’s packing more than just fruit and includes several slices of cucumber. Blueberries and strawberries give you a boost of antioxidants, and cucumber provides minerals and additional antioxidants that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to take on the rest of your day. When compared to other drinks marketed as energy drinks you’re much better going with an all-natural option that leaves you feeling good with no crash later.

Easy Way To Get Rid of Nail Fungus Forever

Toenail fungus, also known as onychomycosis, is a very common problem. Symptoms include inflammation, swelling, yellowing, thickening or crumbling of the nail. It is usually not painful, unless the infection spreads.

The fungus tends to thrive under certain conditions, such as abnormal pH levels of the skin, a weakened immune system, continuous exposure to a moist environment including sweaty shoes and socks, poor hygiene and diabetes.

If left untreated, toenail fungus can cause cracking, splitting and even complete loss of the toenail. The good news is that toenail fungus is curable and can be treated inexpensively. Various natural home remedies can cure the infection in one or two months.
Most books and web sites only give you topical treatments for toenail fungus, and although these will work, if you don’t cure the problem internally as well you will eventually see your fungus return.

Apple cider vinegar and baking soda have a long history of use in folk medicine and home remedies. A lot of pathogens– fungi included– are only adapted to surviving within a narrow range of pH. Vinegar is very acidic, while baking soda is very basic. This helps disrupt the pH of the pathogen’s environment, leading to healthier, clearer nails. In order to take advantage of this effect, all you need are a basin large enough for your feet, warm water, baking soda, and several cups of apple cider vinegar.

Also, drink apple cider vinegar every day as it’s a potent internal fungus and bacterial killer. Just make sure it’s organic apple cider vinegar that still contains the “mother” apple. Mix up two tablespoons of ACV with a teaspoon of manuka honey in a warm glass of filtered water. If you find you can't handle the taste of the ACV liquid, take the tablets or capsules instead.

Here are the little-known natural cures for toenail fungus and natural remedies that will finally get rid of your unsightly looking toenails and give you new nails that shine!

  • First, add the apple cider vinegar to the basin. While the amount you need will be dictated by the size ofthe basin, you want at least enough to cover your nails.
  • Allow your feet to soak for about twenty minutes.
  • Dry your feet thoroughly.
  • Add enough warm water to the basin to cover your nails.
  • Add about a half cup of baking soda to the water.
  • Soak your feet for another fifteen to twenty minutes.
  • Dry your feet thoroughly.
  • Repeat several times per day.

  • In between treatments, it’s a good idea to keep feet clean and dry. Wear open-toed shoes, since fungi thrive in a dark, moist environment. Keep nails and cuticles neatly trimmed, and brush nails with tea tree oil every day to help fight fungus in between treatments. It can take several weeks for fungus to die off, and more for the affected areas of nails to grow out completely, so be patient and keep on top of the treatments.

If you don’t have apple cider vinegar, you may want to consider starting to keep some on hand. Not only is it good at fighting fungal infections, it can help with a host of other common ailments. While there are plenty of brands of apple cider vinegar to choose from, the most popular are generally the raw, unpasteurized products with the “mother” still intact. The mother of vinegar is the catchall term for the microorganisms that turn juices into vinegar, which may provide additional health benefits by out-competing pathogens in the body.

    Weight Loss During Menopause

Aging does not have to equal weight gain. Women do tend to put on a pound a year in their 40s and 50s, but it’s more likely due to a drop in activity rather than hormones. However, hormonal changes can shift your body composition, so any pounds you do gain tend to land in your middle.

Many women feel that once they go through “the change”, their body is doomed to get flabby and pack on stubborn body fat. While it’s true that our hormones do change as we age, weight gain is by no means a forgone conclusion.

Eat at least two servings of fish per week (preferably those with healthy fats like salmon or trout).

“Women may want to give [fish oil] supplements a try if having two servings of fish a week is problematic,” says JoAnn Manson, MD, chief of preventive medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, in Boston. Preliminary research suggests that fish oil may also help prevent breast cancer.
If you’re overweight you can minimize menopausal symptoms and reduce the long-term risks of declining hormones by losing weight.

Slimming down not only reduces the risks of heart disease and breast cancer, both of which go up after menopause, says Dr. Minkin, but new research shows that it may also help obese or overweight women cut down on hot flashes

Your calcium needs go up after age 50, from 1,000 milligrams per day to 1,200 mg. “With less estrogen on board, your bones don’t absorb calcium as well,” says Dr. Minkin.
If you have a cup of low-fat milk, one latte, and one 8-ounce yogurt, you’re getting around 1,100 mg calcium. This means you need to take only an additional 100 mg of supplements a day—less than one caplet’s worth—to make up the difference.

If you're eating dairy, choose low-fat products. These have roughly the same amount of calcium as their full-fat counterparts, but with fewer calories.

About 100% of my patients going through menopause complain of bloating.  cutting the amount of salt and processed carbohydrates in your diet, as they can make you retain water. But don't skimp on whole grains, which are rich in heart-healthy fiber, as well as fruits and vegetables.
Red wine gets a lot of press for its impact on heart health, but for menopausal women the drawbacks of alcohol might outweigh the benefits.

If you enjoy a glass of Pinot, try watering it down with seltzer to make a spritzer (you’ll cut calories too). Also keep in mind that red wine and other drinks may bring on hot flashes as a result of the increase in blood-vessel dilation caused by alcohol.

Soy foods like tofu, soy nuts, and soy milk may offer relief from mild hot flashes and are not thought to increase breast cancer risk. “Women in Japan have the highest soy intake and the lowest risk of breast cancer.

To lose weight you must burn more calories than you consume. A pound is 3,500 calories so in order to lose two pounds a week you must burn an additional 7,000 calories than you eat. My suggestion is to set your calorie intake at 1,200 a day — with the only exception being that you can eat as many raw, grilled, or steamed green vegetables as you want.

Exercise releases many anti-aging, fat-burning hormones. And the harder you workout, the better your results will be. talk to your doctor before beginning a fitness regimen and get proper advice on fitness form, etc., but don’t be afraid to push yourself. Lift weights and I don’t mean 2 pounds. Start running, not power walking.

    Detox Cleanse Water

Water is so essential to the body and its processes, the benefits of drinking clean and sufficient water regularly are unbounded. Adding a dash of some ingredients into it, you can actually transform water into a detox potion. ... Do These 7 Things in Your Kitchen to Lose Weight ..... The lemon-mint-cucumber combination cleanses, aids in digestion, and rehydrates.

    Lemon or Lime Juice

Lemons and limes are a good source of Vitamin C, which is a very important antioxidant because it helps neutralize free radicals in the body. Lemons and limes are also good for alkalizing and cleansing the body as well as aiding in digestion because their make up is very similar to our own digestive enzymes.

    Fresh Mint Leaves

Mint leaves can also be grown inside as well in a pot by the windowsill. Mint improves the flow of bile and can help with activating salivary glands and digestive enzymes that help absorb the nutrients from your food. It is also a calming and soothing herb that can be used to settle an upset stomach.

     Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider help with eliminating toxins and killing bacteria, maintaining a healthy weight, and improving digestion overall. And just like lemons and limes, ACV can also help balance the PH in your body.

In addition to stimulating digestion, cloves can also be used for ailments of the digestive system and are thought to have anti-parasitic properties. Place about 3-5 whole cloves in my water and let them sit in there to flavor the water.

    Ginger Root

Another one for stimulating the flow of digestive juices! Ginger is also another wonderful remedy for indigestion, cramps, nausea and gas that has been used traditionally as a medicine for thousands of years. It is an anti-inflammatory, anti-viral root that boosts circulation and may also kill cancer cells! Dice up about a thumb-sized amount of ginger and add it to water.

    Cucumber Slices

Cucumbers add a nice fresh taste to your water, and can be eaten while drinking the water (because they float!) to help eliminate toxins from the digestive system and continue to hydrate the body. They not only contain antioxidants and fiber, but they may also help with the production of insulin in the pancreas.

Cinnamon is another traditional herb that also anti-fungal and anti-viral and is used to relieve indigestion. It may also help with circulation, metabolizing fats during digestion, and regulating blood-glucose levels by slowing the time it takes for food to go from the stomach to the small intestine. Place a small amount of a cinnamon stick in your water and let it flavor the water just like you would with the cloves.
