If you are trying to loss weight, you must of heard this before "Eat less, exercise more". That’s the simple solution to anyone’s weight-loss questions. But if it were really that easy, more people would be in great shape.
The real secret to targeting fat loss in a specific area is through proper diet. I’m really sorry to let you down. You were probably expecting some mind blowing revelation on how to get six pack abs through some amazing 10 minute abs workout. If you were, then I guess this really is a revelation for you.

Do you see a pattern here? Sorry to say that, but no amount of exercise is going to make that body part look good if there is a layer of fat covering it up! Healthy eating combined with a calorie deficit is the only way to target fat loss. Fat loss is systemic – not localized.

To build muscle & lose fat, you need a variety of proteins, veggies, fruits, carbs, and healthy fats. Eating protein helps building & maintaining muscles.
To better explain this, take your typical arm workout. Maybe you are doing some curls in the hope to have “toned” arms. As you are lifting the weight, your bicep sends out a signal that it needs energy – fat and glycogen. This energy is used both for lifting the weight, and used to repair muscle tissue.

Whether you’re a man or a woman, the fastest way to burn fat faster is by lifting heavy weights. Not only do heavier weights activate more muscle fibers, they also increase your resting metabolism. In other words, when you lift heavy weights, you continue to burn calories at a higher rate, even when you’re doing nothing.

When your muscles send out this “I need fat” signal, your body releases all sorts of fat-burning hormones and chemicals into the blood stream. Within seconds and a couple of heart beats, these fat burning chemicals are dispersed throughout the entire body.

They start pulling fat from all over the place – from the fat in your midsection, to the fat on your fingers. It would be great if your muscles would just use the fat from the surrounding muscle, but that’s just not how it works.

I really despise the word “tone”. It’s another one of those misunderstood words used by the fitness industry. It was created to target women who didn’t want to get big and bulky through strength training.

Being toned means nothing more than having muscle and having low body fat. There is no exercise that accomplishes this by itself. Your goal should be to build muscle in the most efficient way possible, and then use proper nutrition to remove the fat covering it.
Stop wasting your time with crunches, leg lifts, or any other isolation exercise that doesn’t challenge you. Get in the gym and start lifting some weights, or do your strength training at home – just do it. Build that fat-burning muscle, and then focus on your diet.

If you don’t want to get bulky, then you have to watch what you eat. If you put on muscle but do nothing to decrease your body fat (diet), you are going to look bigger. However, if you get in the gym and do squats and other highly effective compound movements, and couple that with a great diet and a calorie deficit, you are going to start seeing the true potential of your body.

Parmesan Quinoa Bites

Ingredients

1/2 c. quinoa, white, organic
1 c. water, purified
2 egg, omega-3, cage-free, organic
1 green onion, fresh, organic
1 clove garlic, fresh, organic
1/2 c. cheese, parmesan, raw, organic
3 tbs. cilantro, fresh, organic
2 tbs. almond flour, organic
1/4 tsp. sea salt, unrefined and pure
1/8 tsp. black pepper, ground, organic
1/2 tsp. lemon juice, pure, organic
1 tsp. olive oil, extra virgin, unrefined and unfiltered, organic

Directions

Cook the quinoa: combine quinoa and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and let simmer (covered) for about 10 minutes, until all liquid has been absorbed. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a mini muffin pan with coconut oil. Combine cooked quinoa, eggs, diced green onion, minced garlic, shredded Parmesan, chopped cilantro, almond flour, sea salt, pepper, lemon juice, and olive oil in a large bowl. Stir to mix well. Health Benefits Of Flaxseed


 
Flaxseeds (which are also referred to as linseeds) are a seed from flax. Flax is one of the world’s oldest fiber crops, and it is known to have been grown in ancient China and Egypt. Flaxseeds are considered to be a superfood because they are a great source of dietary fiber, micronutrients, manganese, alpha-linolenic acid, and vitamin B1. Flaxseed is also a source of antioxidants and healthy fats.

Although flaxseed contains all sorts of healthy components, it owes its primary healthy reputation to three of them:
  • Omega-3 essential fatty acids, "good" fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Each tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3s.
  • Lignans, which have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities. Flaxseed contains 75 to 800 times more lignans than other plant foods.
  • Fiber. Flaxseed contains both the soluble and insoluble types.

As reported in Medical News Today, there are many health benefits associated with flaxseed use. One of them is protection against cancer. Consuming flaxseed is believed to guard against breast, colon, and prostate cancer. Flaxseed is linked to cancer cell growth prevention because the omega-3 fatty acids in the seed can prevent the malignant cells from latching onto other cells in the body. Additionally, the lignans found in flaxseed are believed to contain antiangiogenic properties that prevent tumors from creating new blood vessels.

Eating flaxseed daily may also help your cholesterol levels. The level of LDL or "bad" cholesterol in the bloodstream has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.

Preliminary research also suggests that daily intake of the lignans in flaxseed may modestly improve blood sugar (as measured by hemoglobin A1c blood tests in adults with type 2 diabetes).

One study of menopausal women, published in 2007, reported that 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed mixed into cereal, juice, or yogurt twice a day cut their hot flashes in half. The intensity of their hot flashes also dropped by 57%. The women noticed a difference after taking the daily flaxseed for just one week and achieved the maximum benefit within two weeks.

Two components in flaxseed, ALA and lignans, may reduce the inflammation that accompanies certain illnesses (such as Parkinson's disease and asthma) by helping block the release of certain pro-inflammatory agents, Fitzpatrick says.
ALA has been shown to decrease inflammatory reactions in humans. And studies in animals have found that lignans can decrease levels of several pro-inflammatory agents.
Reducing inflammation associated with plaque buildup in the arteries may be another way flaxseed helps prevent heart attack and strokes.

Many experts believe it's better to consume flaxseed than flax oil (which contains just part of the seed) so you get all the components.

As noted in WebMD, flaxseed is linked to the prevention of cardiovascular disease. In fact, research indicates that the omega-3s in flaxseed help normalize the heartbeat while also promoting anti-inflammatory action within the body. The amino acids found in flaxseeds are also thought to play a role in promoting cardiovascular health.

Ingredients:

Big bottle Blue cheap mouthwash
3 cups of Epsom salt,
3 stale 12 oz cheap beer


Directions:

Mix those three ingredients together until salt is dissolved... ...
Spray anywhere you sit outside , around pools , will not harm plants or flowers...
Mosquitoes gone from that area immediately.
I spray my deck all around my sitting areas twice a summer. They leave that area you spray and will not come back.. Been using this mixture for last 2 years.. It works. The stronger you mix the longer it last.. Mosquitoes and bugs hate it.. Nice mint smell..

Ingredients:


1 Baby cucumber
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Chili powder to taste

Instructions:

Chop a baby cucumber and add lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper and Chili powder on top. Mix them well and enjoy.

2 tablespoons of raw organic honey

Mix the ingredients together. Wait until your honey completely dissolves then slowly drink. You might not like the taste at first but you get used to it. Consume 1 to 2 glasses daily.

    Easy Way To Get Rid of Nail Fungus Forever



    Toenail fungus, also known as onychomycosis, is a very common problem. Symptoms include inflammation, swelling, yellowing, thickening or crumbling of the nail. It is usually not painful, unless the infection spreads.
    The fungus tends to thrive under certain conditions, such as abnormal pH levels of the skin, a weakened immune system, continuous exposure to a moist environment including sweaty shoes and socks, poor hygiene and diabetes.

    If left untreated, toenail fungus can cause cracking, splitting and even complete loss of the toenail. The good news is that toenail fungus is curable and can be treated inexpensively. Various natural home remedies can cure the infection in one or two months.
     Most books and web sites only give you topical treatments for toenail fungus, and although these will work, if you don’t cure the problem internally as well you will eventually see your fungus return.
    Apple cider vinegar and baking soda have a long history of use in folk medicine and home remedies. A lot of pathogens– fungi included– are only adapted to surviving within a narrow range of pH. In order to take advantage of this effect, all you need are a basin large enough for your feet, warm water, baking soda, and several cups of apple cider vinegar.

    Also, drink apple cider vinegar every day as it’s a potent internal fungus and bacterial killer. Just make sure it’s organic apple cider vinegar that still contains the “mother” apple. Mix up two tablespoons of ACV with a teaspoon of manuka honey in a warm glass of filtered water. If you find you can't handle the taste of the ACV liquid, take the tablets or capsules instead.

  • First, add the apple cider vinegar to the basin. While the amount you need will be dictated by the size ofthe basin, you want at least enough to cover your nails.

    Weight Loss During Menopause


    Aging does not have to equal weight gain. Women do tend to put on a pound a year in their 40s and 50s, but it’s more likely due to a drop in activity rather than hormones. However, hormonal changes can shift your body composition, so any pounds you do gain tend to land in your middle.

    Many women feel that once they go through “the change”, their body is doomed to get flabby and pack on stubborn body fat. While it’s true that our hormones do change as we age, weight gain is by no means a forgone conclusion.

    Eat at least two servings of fish per week (preferably those with healthy fats like salmon or trout).

    “Women may want to give [fish oil] supplements a try if having two servings of fish a week is problematic,” says JoAnn Manson, MD, chief of preventive medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, in Boston. Preliminary research suggests that fish oil may also help prevent breast cancer.
    If you’re overweight you can minimize menopausal symptoms and reduce the long-term risks of declining hormones by losing weight.

    Slimming down not only reduces the risks of heart disease and breast cancer, both of which go up after menopause, says Dr. Minkin, but new research shows that it may also help obese or overweight women cut down on hot flashes

    Your calcium needs go up after age 50, from 1,000 milligrams per day to 1,200 mg. “With less estrogen on board, your bones don’t absorb calcium as well,” says Dr. Minkin.
    If you have a cup of low-fat milk, one latte, and one 8-ounce yogurt, you’re getting around 1,100 mg calcium. This means you need to take only an additional 100 mg of supplements a day—less than one caplet’s worth—to make up the difference.

    If you're eating dairy, choose low-fat products. These have roughly the same amount of calcium as their full-fat counterparts, but with fewer calories.

    About 100% of my patients going through menopause complain of bloating.  cutting the amount of salt and processed carbohydrates in your diet, as they can make you retain water. But don't skimp on whole grains, which are rich in heart-healthy fiber, as well as fruits and vegetables.
    Red wine gets a lot of press for its impact on heart health, but for menopausal women the drawbacks of alcohol might outweigh the benefits.

    If you enjoy a glass of Pinot, try watering it down with seltzer to make a spritzer (you’ll cut calories too). Also keep in mind that red wine and other drinks may bring on hot flashes as a result of the increase in blood-vessel dilation caused by alcohol.

    Soy foods like tofu, soy nuts, and soy milk may offer relief from mild hot flashes and are not thought to increase breast cancer risk. “Women in Japan have the highest soy intake and the lowest risk of breast cancer.

    To lose weight you must burn more calories than you consume. A pound is 3,500 calories so in order to lose two pounds a week you must burn an additional 7,000 calories than you eat. My suggestion is to set your calorie intake at 1,200 a day — with the only exception being that you can eat as many raw, grilled, or steamed green vegetables as you want.

    Exercise releases many anti-aging, fat-burning hormones. And the harder you workout, the better your results will be. talk to your doctor before beginning a fitness regimen and get proper advice on fitness form, etc., but don’t be afraid to push yourself. Lift weights and I don’t mean 2 pounds. Start running, not power walking.

Lemons and limes are also good for alkalizing and cleansing the body as well as aiding in digestion because their make up is very similar to our own digestive enzymes.

    Fresh Mint Leaves

    Mint leaves can also be grown inside as well in a pot by the windowsill. Mint improves the flow of bile and can help with activating salivary glands and digestive enzymes that help absorb the nutrients from your food. It is also a calming and soothing herb that can be used to settle an upset stomach.

     Apple Cider Vinegar

    Apple cider help with eliminating toxins and killing bacteria, maintaining a healthy weight, and improving digestion overall. And just like lemons and limes, ACV can also help balance the PH in your body.

    Cloves

    In addition to stimulating digestion, cloves can also be used for ailments of the digestive system and are thought to have anti-parasitic properties. Place about 3-5 whole cloves in my water and let them sit in there to flavor the water.

They not only contain antioxidants and fiber, but they may also help with the production of insulin in the pancreas.

    Cinnamon

    Cinnamon is another traditional herb that also anti-fungal and anti-viral and is used to relieve indigestion. It may also help with circulation, metabolizing fats during digestion, and regulating blood-glucose levels by slowing the time it takes for food to go from the stomach to the small intestine. Place a small amount of a cinnamon stick in your water and let it flavor the water just like you would with the cloves.

    Oven Baked Chicken Fajita

    Ingredients:

    1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
    2 Tbsp olive oil
    2 tsp chili powder
    1 1/2 tsp cumin
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp dried oregano
    1/4 tsp seasoned salt
    1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1/2 red bell pepper, cut into strips
    1/2 green bell pepper, cut into strips

    Directions:

    Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place chicken strips in a greased 13×9 baking dish.
    In a small bowl combine the oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, dried oregano, and salt.
    Drizzle the spice mixture over the chicken and stir to coat.
     
    Next add the tomatoes, peppers, and onions to the dish and stir to combine. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.

    Baking Soda for Smooth Feet


    You may think of many uses of baking soda in cooking and baking but it is found to be very effective in healing lots of ailments and discomforts. One of most prominent healing power of baking soda is treating stinky and smelly feet and removing feet fungus.

    What you will need:

    4-5 liters of warm water in a bucket (that you’re feet will fit in)

    – 3 tablespoons of baking soda

    – Soft scrub sponge / brush / pumice stone

    – Moisturizer

    Lavender oil (optional)

    And that’s all you need!

    Pour the baking soda in the bucket of water and stir the water until the baking soda is dissolved. If you want to replicate an at home spa, then we recommend adding a couple drops of lavender oil! The aroma is so relaxing and it will help calm you after a long day at work! Soak your feet in the baking soda water for 15-20 minutes. After you’re finished soaking your feet, use a scrub brush, sponge or pumice stone to thoroughly rub the under side of your feet.

    When you’re finished scrubbing, coat your feet in a moisturizer that has a high glycerin content, or simply coat your feet in coconut oil, or vaseline. Put socks on your feet to seal the moisture in. If you do this process before bed, then sleep with these socks on all night! Repeat this process 1-2 times a week leading up to the summer and then reduce to 1-2 times a month throughout the summer!

    If you want to make your at home pedicure a bit more intense, use some of the baking soda and water to make a small amount of paste to scrub your feet with before you scrub with a sponge or brush!

    Watermelon Detox Water


    Watermelon Detox Water
    Ingredients
    • 1 lemon (optional)
    • a handful of mint leaves
    • a large chunk of watermelon (basically what fills your pitcher)
    • 1-2 liters of water
    Instructions
    1. When making it, if you use less water, it'll be stronger and more flavorful. More water means it'll be a little weaker, or last longer.
    2. Slice a large chunk of watermelon into cubes, including the rind, and put them in your pitcher.
    3. Cut the lemon into wedges and toss in with the watermelon.
    4. Add some fresh mint leaves and pour water into the pitcher.
    5. Allow it to sit overnight so the flavors steep and infuse into the water like tea.

    Barbecue Marinade

    Ingredients

    1/2 c. olive oil, extra virgin, unrefined and unfiltered, organic
    2 tsp. dill weed, fresh, organic
    1/2 tsp. tarragon, dried, organic
    1/2 tsp. black pepper, ground, organic
    1 1/2 tsp. lemon zest, from fresh, organic lemons
    2 tbs. lemon juice, pure, organic
    sea salt, unrefined and pure to taste

    Directions

    Heat the oil in a small saucepan (Be sure to use low heat. You want to add some warmth to the oil not cook it). Add herbs, pepper, and lemon peel. Let sit over very low heat for 4-5 minutes (do NOT cook). Remove from heat, let cool slightly and stir in lemon juice.

    Garlic and Artichoke Stuffed Chicken

    Ingredients

    11 garlic, fresh, organic
    2 c. artichoke hearts, unmarinated, organic
    1/2 tsp. sea salt, unrefined and pure
    1 tbs. parsley, dried, organic
    3 tbs. olive oil, extra virgin, unrefined and unfiltered, organic
    1/4 c. cheese, parmesan, raw, organic
    6 chicken cutlets, free-range, organic

    Directions

    Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Combine minced garlic, artichoke hearts, salt, parsley, and Parmesan cheese in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse a few times to combine, then add the olive oil a tablespoon at a time to achieve desired consistency (may not need all 3 tablespoons). Puree mixture until well combined. Place a spoonful of the garlic and artichoke mixture in the middle of each chicken breast. Fold the ends up and use a toothpick to hold them in place. Arrange bundles on the baking sheet. Bake for 20-22 minutes, until chicken is cooked through.

    1/4 c table salt
    1/2 tsp Dawn liquid dish soap

    Direction:


    Mix above ingredients in a spray bottle.
    Spray weeds thoroughly.

    Works better than Round Up - kills weeds on 1st application.

    The Dawn dish soap strips the weed of its protective oils so the vinegar can work with deadly force. Safe for use in yards used by children and pets!!
